Weekender Turned Full-Time Resident – The Vision Behind Round Top Productions

Weekender Turned Full-Time Resident – The Vision Behind Round Top Productions

After over 25 years in PR and Promotions (most recently as a partner at David Zwirner contemporary art gallery in NYC, London and Hong Kong) Julia Joern brings her passion for creativity, community, and cuisine to the hamlet of Round Top in the town of Cairo, NY.  The proud new owner of the former Hartmann’s Kaffeehaus building, she has turned weekend getaways to her Greene County home into the next stage in her continuing career.

With renovations underway at Round Top Productions’ new home at 1507 Hearts Content Road, Julia Joern is welcoming visitors to pop-up events featuring local makers, products, and culinary experts.  The commissary kitchen is currently being put to great use by Potters Table Bakery, producing whole-grain, herbed and seasoned flatbreads, fruit and nut wafers, seeded crisps, handmade marshmallows and seasonal granolas.

The Future Home of Henning’s Test Kitchen

Norwegian chef Henning Nordanger of Henning’s Local in Sullivan County will open Henning’s Local Test Kitchen once renovations are completed on the dining room, cafe, bar, and a separate community kitchen space for cooking classes and food-related workshops. Like that of his current restaurant, the menu at Henning’s Local Test Kitchen will feature his own take on American comfort food (with a bit of a Scandinavian twist) and source ingredients from local farms throughout the Catskills and Hudson Valley, with much coming from Greene County.
