Loomie’s Luncheonette Brings Great Taste to Main Street Catskill

Josie Grant brings deep small-business experience to her newest venture in the Village of Catskill. Having successfully launched seven businesses across Westchester, New Paltz, Kingston, and Saugerties, her latest endeavor — Loomie’s Luncheonette — adds fresh momentum to the northern end of Main Street.

Drawn to Catskill’s historic charm and strong sense of community, Grant made the village home before developing plans for a classic, vintage-style luncheonette that would complement the surrounding small businesses and contribute to Main Street’s continued revitalization.

“Keeping things local was really important to me,” says Grant. “I wanted to create a space where people could come together and enjoy a little pick-me-up in a welcoming setting.” With prior experience operating bake shops, a coffee bar, and sandwich cafés, she combined those successful concepts into one community-focused gathering space.

Working with Erin Ye of Century 21 New West Properties, Grant identified a Main Street storefront that positioned Loomie’s near other established businesses, including Catskill Chocolate Company and Fisheye Ceramics — reinforcing the corridor’s growing mix of retail, food, and arts destinations. By the end of 2025, renovations were underway, and Loomie’s opened in the new year.

Beyond serving house-made soups, sandwiches, baked goods, and specialty coffees, Loomie’s is quickly becoming a local hub. The luncheonette recently hosted its first art opening reception, drawing a packed house and demonstrating Main Street’s continued role as a center for small business activity and cultural programming.

Open Thursday through Monday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 462 Main Street, Loomie’s sources many of its ingredients locally and actively promotes menu specials and events through social media, further strengthening its ties to the community it now calls home.
